MySQL Database Requirements
CRITICAL: For the alarm and log system to function correctly, the Event Scheduler feature must be active in MySQL version 8.0..
Checking Event Scheduler Status:
- Connect to the MySQL command line, HeidiSQL, or another MySQL editor. You can install HeidiSQL from the official website.
- Run the following command:
SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'event_scheduler'; - The result should be
ON. If it isOFF, run the following command:SET GLOBAL event_scheduler = ON; - To make it permanent, add the following line to your
my.iniormy.cnffile:event_scheduler=ON
Why is Event Scheduler Necessary?
- For periodic control operations of the alarm system
- For log archiving processes
- For database maintenance tasks
- For automatic data cleaning operations
If the Event Scheduler is closed, the alarm and log systems will not function properly!
Installation
The Aqua Lite application comes with an installation wizard. You can select the following components during installation:
- AQUAVISOR Application - Main desktop application (mandatory)
- MySQL 8.0.* Database Server - Database management system (optional, skip if already installed)
Installation Steps:
- Run the installation file
- Follow the installation wizard
- Select the desired components on the component selection screen:
- AQUAVISOR application (selected by default)
- MySQL 8.0.* database server (select if not on your system)
- Launch the application after the installation is complete
Important Note: If you are installing MySQL with the setup, ensure that the MySQL service is running after installation. Also, make sure the MySQL Event Scheduler feature is active (see the "MySQL Database Requirements" section above).
Database Management
Database Management with HeidiSQL
The Aqua Lite application supports popular MySQL management tools like HeidiSQL for database management. By connecting to your database with HeidiSQL, you can:
- View the database structure
- Inspect and edit table data
- Execute SQL queries
- Perform database backup and restore operations
- Check Event Scheduler status
- Manage users and permissions
HeidiSQL Connection Information:
- Server Type: MySQL (TCP/IP)
- Server Address: localhost (or the IP address where MySQL is installed)
- Port: 3306 (default MySQL port)
- Username: root (or the user you created during MySQL installation)
- Password: The password you set during MySQL installation
- Database: aqualite20 (automatically created by the application)
Important: The database version must be MySQL 8.0.*. Older versions (5.7 or earlier) are not supported.
Database Structure
The necessary database tables are automatically created when the application is first run. The database structure includes:
- User management tables
- Device and facility information tables
- Data logging tables
- Alarm management tables
- Event tracking tables
- Configuration tables
Post-Installation Tasks
- Activate MySQL Event Scheduler (see the "MySQL Database Requirements" section above)
- Launch the Application for the First Time - Configure the database connection
- Login with Default User - A default admin user is created during the first installation
- Check Database Connection Settings - Verify MySQL connection details in the application settings
- Test Connection with HeidiSQL - Verify database access
